There is an increasing demand for low cost housing to meet the needs of vulnerable groups and key workers, who have not been able to access their full share of the rapid development and gentrification of the capital over the past decade. The GLA has committed to building 50,000 new affordable homes in London by 2011 as a means of addressing this problem.

On two levels the development of the modular system is very well suited to the key users. Importantly the construction process allows for the time and cost to be reduced by up to half of traditional building techniques of traditional building techniques, whilst also remaining considerably more environmentally friendly. Simultaneously as a result of this, and the lower outlay, this saving can be efficiently passed onto the end-user.
